Historical and Cultural Exploration

The journey begins with a scenic drive from Siliguri to Cooch Behar (120 km, approx. 3 hours). Once you arrive, explore the grandeur of the Cooch Behar Palace, a stunning example of Indo-Saracenic architecture, once home to the royal family of Cooch Behar. Visit the Cooch Behar Museum, which displays royal artifacts and gives insight into the region's fascinating history. Later, enjoy a relaxing walk through Madhusree Park before retiring for the night.

On Day 2, travel to Alipurduar (40 km, approx. 1 hour). Known for its colonial heritage, the town is home to many historic landmarks. Visit the Jitpur Church and the Alipurduar Museum, showcasing relics from the British era. Afterward, head to Sagardighi (about 10 km from Alipurduar), a serene lake surrounded by lush greenery. The picturesque setting makes it a perfect spot for a peaceful retreat. In the afternoon, visit the Madanmohan Temple, an important religious site in the area known for its historic and architectural significance.

On Day 3, drive to Rasikbill (50 km, approx. 1.5 hours), a town steeped in spirituality. Visit the Rasikbill Temple, known for its scenic location and historical importance. Afterward, explore the nearby Rasikbill Sanctuary, home to diverse flora and fauna, including migratory birds. Later, visit the Baneswar Shiva Temple (located around 15 km from Rasikbill), an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, offering a peaceful and spiritual experience, with turtle lake.

Post breakfast, drive to Bhutan Ghat (85 km, 2.5 hours), a peaceful riverside destination located at the Indo-Bhutan border. Spend time exploring the quaint surroundings, perfect for family photos and relaxation. Then drive towards Phuentsholing, the southern border town of Bhutan. Phuentsholing is 30km away. After one hour drive you will reach Phuentsholing. The famous tourist interest spots of Phuentsholing are the Crocodile breeding centre Amo Chhu and wish fulfilling monastery Karbandi. In the afternoon after lunch we will drive you to Chilapata Forest. It is a 2hrs journey from Phuentsholing to Chilapata. Chilapata is famous for forming a natural corridor between Buxa-Tiger-Reserve and Jaldapara. Here you can also visit the ancient ruin of Nalraja Fort which date backs to 5th Century.

On the final day, enjoy a relaxed breakfast before returning to Siliguri (120 km, approx. 3 hours). The drive back offers beautiful views of the Dooars region, allowing you to reflect on the rich cultural and wildlife experiences you've had over the past days.
