Dooars Bird Watching & Photography Adventure

Your adventure begins with your arrival at Rasikbill, located about 80 km (2-3 hours) from Siliguri. Rasikbill, known for its serene wetland, is a prime location for birdwatching. Here, you will have the opportunity to photograph a variety of resident and migratory birds, including species like herons, egrets, and kingfishers. The calm surroundings make it a perfect spot for quiet observation and photography, offering both beginners and experts a chance to capture stunning images of the avian world. The evening offers a peaceful respite by the bill, soaking in the tranquil atmosphere.

On Day 2, after a wholesome breakfast, you will travel to Sikiajhora and Tashigaon, both located approximately 40 km (1-1.5 hours) from Rasikbill. Sikiajhora, with its varied habitats, is home to numerous bird species, including hornbills and woodpeckers, and its rich flora attracts photographers looking for both landscape and wildlife shots. Tashigaon, known for its forested hills and abundant wildlife, offers another opportunity for bird sightings, including several migratory species. The day will be filled with bird watching and photography amidst these scenic landscapes, with time to relax and enjoy the beauty of the region.

Day 3 takes you through the forests of Bodaganj and Ambari, situated approximately 50 km (1.5-2 hours) from Tashigaon. The dense forests in these areas are rich in biodiversity, home to species such as parakeets, pigeons, and even the elusive great hornbill. These lush forests are perfect for capturing rare and unique bird species. Photographers will have plenty of chances to shoot in varied forest settings, from thick canopies to quiet forest floors. The natural beauty and peaceful ambiance of Bodaganj and Ambari make them ideal locations for nature photography and wildlife observation.

On the final day, after a relaxing morning in the forests, you will head back to Siliguri, a drive of around 90 km (2-3 hours). As you travel back, the scenic drive offers one last opportunity for photography, with views of the Dooars landscapes and possibly a few last sightings of local wildlife. You will reach Siliguri by late afternoon, marking the end of your enriching bird watching and photography adventure.
