About Jayanti
Jayanti is a tiny settlement on the edge of Buxa Tiger Reserve, set beside a broad bed of white dolomite pebbles that the Jayanti river crosses in braided channels. In the dry months you can walk straight across the riverbed towards the Bhutan hills rising behind it.
The village is a base for the Mahakal caves, Pukhri Hill and forest walks where elephants, gaur and civets are regularly recorded. Evenings here are almost silent apart from the river.

How to reach
Bagdogra Airport (IXB) is the nearest airport, 2–4 hours by road depending on the destination.
Rajabhatkhawa (15 km) and Alipurduar Junction (30 km).
Drive via Rajabhatkhawa on a forest road through Buxa.
Best time to visit
October to April, when skies are clear, forests are open and wildlife sightings peak.
