About Lepchakha
Lepchakha is a Drukpa village at about 1,000 m inside Buxa Tiger Reserve, reached only on foot from Santalabari via Buxa Fort. From its terraces the entire Dooars plain unfolds below, with the Jayanti river drawn across it like a silver thread.
Villagers run simple homestays with shared meals; there are no roads, no vehicles and, in the mornings, often nothing but cloud below you.
