About Gorumara National Park
Gorumara National Park sits on the floodplains of the Murti and Raidak rivers, a compact 80 sq km mosaic of tall elephant grass, sal forest and river islands. It was declared a national park in 1994 and is regularly rated among the best-managed protected areas in India.
The park is best known for its population of Indian one-horned rhinoceros, but gaur, Asiatic elephant, sambar, wild boar and more than 190 bird species share the same grassland. Viewing is done from forest department watchtowers overlooking salt licks, and from open jeeps on fixed forest tracks.

How to reach
Bagdogra Airport (IXB) is the nearest airport, 2–4 hours by road depending on the destination.
New Mal Junction (18 km) and New Jalpaiguri (75 km).
Lataguri, on NH-17, is the main gateway — roughly 75 km from Siliguri.
Best time to visit
October to April, when skies are clear, forests are open and wildlife sightings peak.
